taste_2010_header.jpg

We'd like to extend a sincere thanks to all those who came out to the Eighth Annual Taste of Greenwich House, in support of our programs. This evening of delicious tastings from many of New York's finest restaurants served up some delicious tastes, with great entertainment and an exciting silent auction item. Remember the online auction is till open, so keep on bidding! The event was hosted and produced by Greenwich House and the Taste Benefit Committee with proceeds benefiting Greenwich House's social services including: treatment for at-risk and abused children; social and mental health programs for seniors; and primary care and mental health for HIV/AIDS clients, among many other programs. Please stop by the Greenwich House website in the next few days to check out photos from the event.

On May 21st, seniors and staff members from the Judith C. White Senior Center were honored by a visit from City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. While we are always happy to see Ms. Quinn, who frequently drops in at Greenwich House and other businesses in her district, her presence on the 21st was far more important than a casual visit.

Greenwich House Children’s Safety Project

June 17th, 2009 | Greenwich House

Tara's Story

When she first came to Greenwich House’s Children’s Safety Project (CSP) two years ago, 11-year-old Tara had experienced multiple instances of abuse and neglect. As a result she had so much social anxiety that she needed  to be home-schooled. Through therapy in the CSP and classes in our pottery program, which she received a scholarship to attend, Tara became a lively teenager who happily attends public school and is involved in many activities.
