Members' Exhibition, 2009

"Ceramic art is a constant learning process. The different forms, modeling techniques, clays, glazes, washes, stains and firing methods combine in infinite variations.
At Greenwich House Pottery, the student/members have found a home where they can learn and explore that range of variables. Some are experienced artists exploring new frontiers, others bring their life talents to the art for the first time. But for all, the Pottery is a place where they can express themselves through clay with freedom, passion and joy. The results are variously beautiful, startling, moving, sensuous and sometimes, hilarious.
Each Spring, students show their work in the world-class Jane Hartshook Gallery. They work throughout the year towards this goal and the display is as fascinating, creative and diverse as the students themselves. It truly is a show." - Liz Whelan, GHP Member
