Arts Programs serving New York
Greenwich House founder Mary Kingsbury Simkhovitch recognized that the arts were essential to the richness and vitality of the community.
She saw that cultural programs held great potential to unite people from different backgrounds -- this was especially important when new immigrants needed to acclimate to their new world and way of life.
Greenwich House still upholds the strong belief that the arts can create unique bonds between diverse people, fulfill the natural human need for self-expression and foster confidence where it might otherwise dwindle.
And, to help us share this belief with our community, we offer classes, workshops, concerts and exhibitions in music, dance and the ceramic arts -- for everyone.
