Guidelines and Opportunities
To Volunteer at Greenwich House
At Greenwich House, we work with individual companies to help meet their volunteer program objectives but we encourage you to review our volunteer resources for additional information.
Guidelines
Greenwich House, Inc. welcomes opportunities to work with corporate volunteers who provide valuable human resources and support for our Senior Center programs and help companies fulfill their corporate responsibility goals. Our Senior Center are small but vital programs. We can accommodate groups of approximately 14 to 20 volunteers in our Senior Center. However, if a party in the gymnasium is organized, these numbers can be increased. Please see Volunteer Opportunities for idea-generating examples of volunteer projects. Organizing volunteer projects efficiently to meet the needs of both Greenwich House programs and the corporate volunteers involves intensive planning and valuable staff resources on both sides. For those reasons, we welcome volunteer projects:
- With companies whose giving guidelines include Greenwich House program needs. If your company’s contributions/philanthropy giving guidelines include support for programs involving early childhood education, substance abuse treatment, mental health, health care and services for people living with HIV/ AIDS, arts (music, arts education, crafts), and elder care, please get in touch.
- That provide financial or in-kind materials support for the project. We have limited financial resources to apply toward items such as art supplies, board games, decorative materials, etc., so we gratefully accept and will acknowledge the purchase of project-related materials and supplies. If your company or corporate team is interested in volunteering with Greenwich House, please contact Yojiro Moro, at (212) 991-0003, ext. 403 or by email at: ymoro@greenwichhouse.org.
