Helping NYC Families Enroll in Pre-K and 3-K with a New Outreach Grant
Greenwich House received a $75,000 award from the NYC Mayor’s Office Child Care Outreach and Enrollment Initiative, aimed at supporting families in high-need neighborhoods—specifically the 10002 zip code on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Our team will help connect families—especially immigrants and those in shelters—to NYC Department of Education Pre-K and 3-K programs for both the current and upcoming school years.
This work builds on Greenwich House’s century-long commitment to family services in downtown Manhattan. The initiative includes in-person outreach, digital sign-up support, and translated materials to reach linguistically diverse communities.
“Families are often eligible but unaware or confused by the enrollment process,” said Jasmine Sanchez, Director of Youth Services at Greenwich House. “Our goal is to make it as easy and welcoming as possible.”
