Black Composers Upsouth: Dance Clarinets

Directed by JD Parran, Greenwich House Music School’s premiere jazz clarinet ensemble will kick off the Black Composers Upsouth Festival with a concert celebrating the music of Oliver Lake, Julius Hemphill, and James “Jabbo” Ware. Oliver Lake will read original poetry. Doors 7:15 pm, Concert 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 available at the door only (cash preferred).

This concert is presented in memory of James Jabbo Ware. Dance Clarinets is supported, in part, by public funds from NYU, the New York State Council on the Arts, the offices of Governor Kathleen Hochul, and the New York State Legislature. The series is presented by Greenwich House Music School in partnership with Continuum Culture & Arts’ Soup & Sound. Soup & Sound is a program of Continuum Culture & Arts, Inc. A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
