Ye’ela (Ela) Wilschanski

Ye’ela Wilschanski’s primary medium is sculpture, layered with performance and video. Through her choreography and combination of mediums, Wilschanski examines the notion of functionality and corporeality in an environment she creates.  Solo exhibitions / performances include Union Gallery, Wagner College (2025), 14Y Gallery (2024), Parent Company Gallery (2024), The Border Gallery (2022), mhPROJECTnyc (2021), Das Schaufenster (2021) and A.I.R. Gallery (2020). Group exhibitions / performances include Accent Sisters (2025), Essex Flowers Gallery Flower Festival (NYC 2024), Anya and Andrew Shiva Gallery (NYC 2024), Long Story Short Gallery (NYC 2021) and Movement Research at The Judson Church (NYC 2019). Awards include Vermont Studio Center Fellowship (2025), LABA House Of Study (2024) and NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship Craft/Sculpture (2023). Wilschanski holds a MFA from Hunter College in Combined Media (2019) and a BFA in Ceramics and Glass from Bezalel (2014).
