Charlotte Detrick

Charlotte Detrick is a soprano noted for her wide vocal range and comic abilities. Ms. Detrick sang in many productions with the New York City Opera during that company’s tenure at Lincoln Center, and appeared in their Emmy award-winning “Live From Lincoln Center” telecast of Madama Butterfly. Notable opera roles include:Marguerite in Faust with Hudson Opera Theatre, the title role in Francesca da Rimini with Garden State Opera, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus with Liederkranz Opera, Nedda in Pagliacci (Wyckoff Opera), the title role in Suor Angelica with the Varna Festival (Bulgaria) and the Mother in Hansel & Gretel with the Narnia Festival (Narni, Italy).

As an operetta/musical theatre performer, Charlotte has sung soprano heroines in virtually all of the Gilbert and Sullivan canon, including Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center with the New York G&S Players. In addition, she sang the title role in Countess Maritza, Nadina in The Chocolate Soldier, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, and many others. Charlotte also enjoys premiering new works, and in May of 2024 sang as soloist at National Sawdust with Vince Clarke (of Depeche Mode fame) at the release party for his new album “Songs of Silence.”Last November she performed as soloist as part of the Tribeca New Music Festival at the DiMenna Center in a concert of works by living composers.
