Uncharted 2025: Where NYC Artists Take Creative Risks

New York City’s music scene has always thrived on experimentation, diversity, and bold artistic vision. From April 10 – May 15, Greenwich House Music School proudly presents Uncharted 2025, a concert series that provides artists with the space, resources, and support they need to take risks and push their work in new directions.

For nearly a decade, Uncharted has served as an incubator for musicians looking to explore new collaborations, debut original projects, and create without commercial constraints. Participating artists receive a stipend, rehearsal space, marketing support, in-house engineering, and—most importantly—100% of all ticket and merch sales.

Uncharted Artist Lineup 2025

The 2025 Artist Line-Up

The 2025 Uncharted series showcases an extraordinary lineup of artists whose work is shaped by their unique cultural identities and deep ties to New York City:

  • Jaime Lozano – A Broadway-influenced composer sharing powerful stories of the Latino immigrant experience through his Songs by an Immigrant project.
  • Sirintip– A Thai-Swedish “research artist” merging jazz, science, and technology to explore climate change, with compositions built from NASA climate data.
  • Bryan Vargas – A native New Yorker and Afro-Latin guitarist whose music blends cumbia, Latin jazz, and global rhythms with messages of cultural resistance.
  • Michela Marino Lerman – A tap dance virtuoso integrating rhythm and electronic soundscapes in Agape, an exploration of inter-dimensional love.
  • Juntas Chicas – A duo evolving Son Jarocho traditions, infusing their performances with New York’s multicultural influences.
  • Excelsis Percussion – A multicultural, all-female percussion quartet experimenting with found sounds and electronics in their environmental justice project, Rooted in Rhythm.

A Home for Creative Freedom

Uncharted performances take place in Greenwich House Music School’s 90-seat venue, an intimate downtown space that has hosted legends such as John Cage, Meredith Monk, and Morton Subotnick. Each artist adapts their performance to this unique setting, ensuring that no two shows are alike.

“Uncharted is about more than just performance—it’s about giving artists the support to create freely, to experiment, and to share work that might not exist otherwise, said Rachel Black, Director of Greenwich House Music School. “New York City has always been a place where creative communities come together, and we’re proud to contribute to that ecosystem.”
