Handmade Happy Hour is a relaxed, hands-on ceramics workshop designed for adults looking to unwind, get creative, and spend an evening making something with their hands. Perfect for beginners, this two-hour class offers an approachable introduction to clay in a social, welcoming studio environment.
Participants explore pottery wheel throwing and handbuilding on alternating weeks, guided step-by-step by experienced teaching artists. No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to get a little messy.

What to Bring
Come prepared to get messy. Aprons and basic tools are provided. Clay, glazing, and firing are included.
Learn the Wheel — or Build by Hand 
Classes alternate weekly between pottery wheel throwing and handbuilding projects, giving participants the opportunity to explore different approaches to working with clay.
- Pottery Wheel Weeks: Learn the basics of centering, shaping, and forming vessels on the wheel
- Handbuilding Weeks: Create functional or sculptural forms using slab, coil, and pinch techniques
Finished pieces are glazed and fired by Greenwich House Pottery staff and will be ready for pickup in approximately three weeks.

Get your hands dirty and jump into the world of ceramics in this evening workshop designed for connection and creativity. Handmade Happy Hour balances instruction with ease, making space for conversation, experimentation, and play.
Bring a friend, come on a date, or meet new creative neighbors. The atmosphere is casual and social, allowing participants to unwind while learning new skills and creating one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces.
BYO beverage is welcome. Participants consuming alcohol must be 21+.
