Youth Clay Camp – Ages 7 – 12
Location: 16 Jones Street, New York, NY 10014
Get ready for a muddy 6-week adventure! Children ages 7-12 are welcome to spend summer mornings with our skilled instructor to learn all the basics of working in clay. The tactile nature of clay encourages focus, imagination, and problem-solving through touch, movement, and experimentation. While handbuilding, students engage fully in the moment—fostering creativity, patience, and presence. The result is not just a finished ceramic piece, but a shared experience rooted in attention, play, and creative exploration. Children are expected to bring food and beverage for snack and lunch breaks. Occasional field trips will be held on Fridays to visit galleries, museums, working artist studios or play spaces. Children who attend more than 4 classes will be able to take home glaze-fired work.
Children who are younger than 9 must have some experience working with clay prior to registering for camp.
