About the Lifelong Skills and Opportunity Center
At a time when the rising cost of living, inflation, and increasing poverty rates are creating new financial pressures for New Yorkers, Greenwich House has opened the Lifelong Skills & Opportunity Center to help New Yorkers re-enter the workforce. With over 5,000 square feet of dedicated space at 27 Barrow Street, the Center is designed to meet the growing demand for workforce development, offering a comprehensive range of classes and support services to help individuals gain critical skills and connect with employers.
With the support of the NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA), the Center provides a one-of-a-kind, all-in-one resource hub for older adults seeking to return to work. Services include digital literacy training, personalized resume and job search support, and partnerships with businesses that are eager to hire experienced workers. The Center is open to all, but prioritizes individuals from communities long-served by Greenwich House, including those accessing recovery and behavioral health services.
In addition to job training and certification courses, participants can access a variety of wraparound social services that support their journey back into the workforce, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in today’s evolving job market. For more information, contact workforce@greenwichhouse.org or visit the Center at 27 Barrow St., 5th Floor, New York, NY 10014.
