Our Story
Partially funded by the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA), Greenwich House’s older adult centers are a vital resource for many in the community.
Prior to 2011, the Judith C. White Senior Center at 27 Barrow was our main site for delivering programming and services for adults ages 60 and up. In 2011, Greenwich House took over the management of three centers formerly affiliated with The Caring Community: Center on The Square, Our Lady of Pompeii and Independence Plaza. Since then, thanks to input from our members, broad creative mix of programming, and a team dedicated to our members, GH has become the top provider of programs and services to older adults residing in the Village.
We offer meals as well as diverse health, wellness, social and educational programs and activities.
The Network consists of 5 center locations offering both in-person and online activities., computer labs, free WIFI and tech support. In addition, each location offers a freshly prepared meal. The most recent addition to our network is Westbeth, which debuted in 2022 and is open for Saturday meals.
The Network also provides case assistance to help those obtain benefits and entitlements, information and referrals, and other social services.
All centers are accessible via elevators or ramps.
