Gina Tibbott

Gina Tibbott is a ceramicist who studies archaeology and an archaeologist who studies ceramics. Her handbuilt and wheelthrown functional works are designed for everyday use, with the worst-case scenario of breakage presumably inserting them into the archaeological record. Her archaeological work on ancient ceramic technology presently focuses on production strategies, energy consumption, and behavioral analysis through material remains. She has excavated in the US, Italy, and Oman, and has worked for various Pompeii-based research projects for over a decade.
