Raised in Southeast Michigan, Joel is a visual and theatre artist and carries 8+ years of ceramics practice. He joined the GHP community the summer after moving to NYC.

While Joel enjoys employing a breadth of styles and techniques, his work carries themes of texture, pattern, movement, nostalgia, character, play, and a fondness for function. Considered tactile surfaces and utility are united in pieces created for use, and inspired by natural, ancient, retro, and fantastical motifs. He is very unserious, and loves to incorporate his offbeat sense of humor into his work.

He is a recipient of the Madeline Sadin Award.
