Lu Zhang

Lu Zhang is an artist, born in Xian, China. She received her MFA in Fine Arts and MS in Art History from Pratt Institute in 2015. She also holds BA degree in Economics from Xian Jiao Tong University.
Lu’s work tries to recreate intimate experiences from one’s own social and cultural complexities. Work with material such as fundamental emotions which generated by human relationships, Lu autobiographically tells stories through photography, video, sculpture, installation and performances. In 2017, Lu created Wildman Clab, a lab/club for researching and proving the existence of primitive individuals in the circumstance of now.
Recent exhibitions include Chen’s Space, Chashama, Present Company, As of Now Gallery, Special Special, NARS Foundation, Museum of Chinese in America, A.I.R Gallery, The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, Korean Culture Center, Xi’an Academy of Fine Art.
