Mako Sandusky
Pronouns: no preference (all)
Mako is a Brooklyn-based artist who creates ceramic objects and vessels. They received a BFA from The University of Arkansas with an emphasis in Ceramics.
Their functional vessels are a practice of self-reflection and translation of memory. The fantastical animal drawings blur and blend on the surface as the glazes move together. Through this process, each form has a dreamy quality. By letting go of refinement, Mako’s pottery has a playful side while staying rooted in historical contexts of clay and illustration.
