Miguel Sagastume

Miguel Sagastume joined Greenwich House’s Center for Resiliency and Wellness in February 2024 and serves as the Director of Support Services. With seven years of personal recovery experience and New York State certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist from the Office of Mental Health, he is dedicated to helping individuals navigate mental health challenges and SUD recovery.

Previously, Sagastume provided case management and counseling services for Anchor House, Bronx Crisis Center, and BRC Bowery Residents Commission.

In addition to his human services work, Sagastume is a published author of the three-part book series “We Do Recover”, a comprehensive evidence-based guide to addiction treatment, prevention, and recovery. Through presentations at educational conferences and outreach initiatives, he strives to challenge stigma and reshape the conversation surrounding mental health.

Sagastume holds a degree in psychology from York College CUNY. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Mental Health to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). He is fluent in English and Spanish.
