Mioi Takeda
Japanese violinist Mioi Takeda has degrees from Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music (Bachelor of Music), The Juilliard School (Master of Music), and The City University of New York (Doctor of Musical Arts).
Dr. Takeda studied with Dorothy DeLay, Itzhak Perlman and Masao Kawasaki as a full scholarship student. She frequently performs as a soloist, a member of chamber music groups, and as an orchestral performer at the venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She co-founded a violin duo group, Miolina (miolinanyc.com), with GHMS violin-faculty member Lynn Bechtold.
She is author of The Secret of Jascha Heifetz’s Playing Style as Revealed Through His Editing of Works by Walton, Korngold and Waxman and on a faculty at York College of The City University of New York.
