Sam Rosenthal, MHC-LP

Sam Rosenthal, MHC-LP joined Greenwich House’s Center for Resiliency and Wellness as a Psychotherapist in May 2023. Sam finds great passion in helping adults, couples, and families in his practice and enjoys the depth and richness of Psychodynamic and Relational approaches to therapy.

In your work with Sam, you can understand your problems and symptoms in the context of your past experiences, relationships, and other pieces of the puzzle to help support you in your day-to-day struggles. Sam encourages putting into words painful or confusing feelings while compassionately exploring dysfunctional patterns. Sam primarily works with issues of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, intersecting identities, and relationship problems.

Prior to his time at Greenwich House, Sam trained as a Mental Health Counselor in the Brooklyn College Personal Counseling Center, where he provided psychotherapy to struggling college students. He also worked as a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Sam’s professional experience has focused on LGBTQ+ issues, sexuality and expression, Jewish issues, and childhood trauma.

Sam holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College and a BFA from Parsons: The New School for Design.
