Samson Baker

As the Director of Education and Professional Learning, Samson directly oversees all aspects of the BSNS program, from day-to-day operations to teacher support and curriculum development, with a focus on staff professional development and the school’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. He is thrilled that this role fuses his experiences as a school leader, early childhood classroom teacher, DEI practitioner, and workshop facilitator, enabling him to support both children and adults to develop their own voices and contribute their strengths in meaningful ways, in order to create a dynamic, inclusive learning community.  

Samson joined the Barrow Street Nursery School administrative team in 2019 and has 20 years of experience working as an administrator and kindergarten and pre-k classroom teacher in independent, progressive early childhood settings in New York City. Samson holds an M.S. Ed in Early Childhood Education from The City College of New York.
