Sara Tarullo, LCSW
Sara Tarullo LCSW joined the Greenwich House’s Center for Resiliency and Wellness as a Therapist in July 2024. She believes that therapy can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. In her practice Sara offers an intentional and protected space for clients to re-engage with themselves, cultivate understanding, and move toward growth. She values work that allows for reflection, curiosity, and learning how to tolerate the ambiguity around the challenges and joys we face during our lifetimes. She seeks to provide structure in moments that feel chaotic, uncertain, or disconnected, while also leaning into experiences of peace and joy.
Sara was born in Queens and raised in Long Island, NY, as the oldest of four children. She moved to Brooklyn after graduating with her MSW from Stony Brook University, School of Social Welfare. Prior to joining Greenwich House, Sara worked for 15 years as a middle school social worker in a public school in East NY, Brooklyn and is a proud adoptive parent and foster mother. She and her wife, Hope, pride themselves on creating a safe and loving home where children whose parents have lost custody of them can find laughter, hope and understanding. Her unique family and life experiences allows her to navigate the different cultures, family structures and life experiences of her clients. Sara‘s therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic therapy.
If you are in the midst of navigating a sensitive transition or difficult life experience, you are not alone. Sara will remain objective, non-judgmental, and curious with you as you navigate important aspects of your identity and life, and work with you to find a shared language that promotes healing and self-love. Her goal is to help you hear your own voice so that you may move forward with authenticity into who you are and who you hope to become.
