Black Composers Upsouth: Julius Hemphill Blues & Ballads

The Black Composers Upsouth Festival concludes with a special concert highlighting the blues and ballads of Julius Hemphill. Featured musicians include Marty Ehrlich, saxophones; Jonathan Finlayson, trumpet; Jerome Harris, electric bass guitar; Pheeroan akLaff, drum set; with special guest Amina Claudine Myers, piano. Doors 7:15 pm, Concert 7:30 pm. Tickets are $25 available at the door only (cash preferred).

The series is presented by Greenwich House Music School in partnership with Continuum Culture & Arts’ Soup & Sound. Soup & Sound is a program of Continuum Culture & Arts, Inc. A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
