Whether you’re new to clay or looking for specialized techniques and new materials, GHP has a variety of workshops every season for all experience levels. Register with friends for a fun crafty afternoon or evening, and check back often for new dates each term.

Register for GHP Workshops

Project-Based Workshops  are designed for new students to explore handbuilding techniques while making a small pot or sculpture in a 2-hour session. All tools and materials are provided. Projects are ready to pick up in approximately 3 weeks.

Wheel Samplers are 2-hour classes to try out the pottery wheel. After a thorough demonstration, students will try their hands at this new skill and keep their handmade pot. Dress for mess! All tools and materials are provided. Projects are ready to pick up in approximately 3 weeks.

Special Topics Workshops vary each semester and are designed to introduce new skills or techniques and encourage makers to try something new to enhance their practice. See each event listing for full details and experience level.

Summer Master Series Workshops take place in July. Each year we invite two artists to host a 2- or 3-day advanced workshop on a dedicated topic. Attendees are introduced to the artist’s background and techniques and participate in an immersive hands-on experience. Requirements and workshop specifications vary.

Workshop Policies
All workshop students must be at least 18 years old unless otherwise noted. Workshop students do not gain access to studio sessions or drop-off firing services.

WORKSHOP REFUND POLICY: Requests for a refund must be received in writing by the Reception Office three weeks prior to the first day of the workshop. Full tuition will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. No refunds will be given after that date.
