Faculty and Staff
Greenwich House Music School provides conservatory-level training in a non-competitive atmosphere for students of all ages. Our esteemed faculty have trained in many of the world’s finest institutions, and mentored generations of musicians with a level of artistic excellence unparalleled in the world of community music school education.
Our Teaching Method
Many of our piano faculty studied under the leadership of former Piano department chairman Maestro German Diez (June 18, 1924-July 9, 2014) during his 65-year tenure. Maestro Diez formed much of what we, at GHMS, consider our teaching method, which advocates for a rigorous approach to the instrument with an open heart, designed to teach respect for music and a lifelong love of the arts. In 2024, GHMS established the German Diez Memorial Piano Chair position, with a fund to support the new chair, as well as piano scholarships based on both merit and need.
