Class Levels

Beginning Wheel & HandbuildingMixed-Level Wheel & HandbuildingIntermediate/Advanced Wheel & Handbuilding
No experience required! Beginning wheel classes cover the basics of creating ceramic forms on the wheel and glazing techniques.

Our beginning handbuilding classes cover basic techniques such as wedging, coils, slabs, pinched forms and glazing fundamentals.
Mixed-level classes are tailored for students who know the basics, but could use more time to refine their technique.

Students are required to have completed at least one term of wheel throwing or handbuilding classes. New to clay? Please sign up for a beginner class.
Intermediate to advanced wheel courses build upon the foundations of wheel throwing by introducing more complex techniques. Students must have at least one full year of hands-on wheel experience in order to enroll, and must be able to confidently center, throw a 7" cylinder, and glaze.

Intermediate to advanced handbuilding courses delve into more complex techniques and surface treatments. Students are expected to have completed at least one year of handbuilding coursework prior to registering.

How to Register

Registration occurs online. If you are unable to register online, you may submit a paper registration form. Submitting a paper registration form does not guarantee a spot in a class. Paper registration forms are entered at the same time that online registration begins, and are not a form of priority registration.

Please do not register for multiple classes on registration day unless you intend to enroll and attend both. Those who are registered twice and request a refund are responsible for a $50 refund fee, as GHP pays processing fees for each refund transaction.

If you are new to GHP, you must create a new registration account. You will be prompted to either create a new account or log in when you go to register for class. Need help? Access our how-to guides here.
